Since losing to Manchester United in January, Arsenal have been moving up the table steadily. In fact, they have won their last five games in a row, including some superb result such as the 2-1 win against Liverpool and some superb display against Blackburn and Tottenham. With another season without any silverware, Arsenal’s main aim must be qualification for Champions League next season. With Chelsea having a difficult game today against Manchester City, Arsenal could well put 6 points between them and 5th spot, Chelsea. As for Everton, their season is almost done – can’t see them dropping into the relegation zone and also can’t see them pushing for Europe. So the only thing to play for, in my opinion, is their contracts and future at Everton. Rumours are going round that Everton do not look healthy financially, the players might have to take a cut in wages or they might have to sell a few of them. Everton have enjoyed a good run in results in recent weeks until their 3-0 defeat against Liverpool.

Since the turn of the year, Everton have defeated Manchester City, Chelsea and Spurs – three of the top five BUT despite the good results against the big boys, Everton are still lying in mid-table on 10th. One would expect them to at least be competing for a place in Europe after three massive wins.

David Moyes will be without Darron Gibson, Rodwell and Seamus Coleman who are all out injured while Wenger will be without Coquelin, Mertesacker and Wilshere who are all sidelined for at least another few weeks. Thomas Vermaelen is doubtful for this game while this game might just be too soon for Diaby who has just recovered.

Verdict:
We all know the player to watch out for is RVP. RVP is one of the hottest striker in the league with 26 goals to his name this season. With the kind of form he is in, he is likely to score at least once tonight, therefore Everton will have to buck up in defense. Wenger will once again play his 4-5-1 formation and the key player will once again be Rosicky. Despite poor display from the Czech captain in previous season and earlier part of the season, Rosicky in my opinion has been one of the better players in this Arsenal line up in the past few months. His line up between defense and attack has been superb.

Everton will not only have to cope with RVP and Rosicky BUT also the pace of Walcott and Gervinho or Alex down the flanks. With Arsenal only giving -0.25, my money is on them. Arsenal are firm favourites in my opinion to claim all three points. However, having said that, Arsenal LEVEL BALL would be my pick for a banker bet as I CANNOT CANNOT see Everton winning.
